RM of The Gap’s story
The Rural Municipality of The Gap No. 39 was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 12, 1903, in the southern part of Saskatchewan.
Within its boundaries lies the village of Ceylon, where the RM's office is located. The former village of Hardy, which was dissolved as a village on January 1, 2000, is now a locality within the municipality.
Today the RM is run by an elected council and an appointed administrator, and the council meets on the second Wednesday of every month.
